“Muscles… you have hundreds of them, and each has been given a special job to do… for you. Not only that, they were all programmed to go where they were supposed to go, and to know what they were supposed to accomplish long before you were the size of the pin-head the angels dance on!” —Bonnie Prudden

“Healthy muscles are designed and programmed to do two simple things: contract and relax. Unless your muscles get together and agree on the move you need to make, you can’t get out of bed, drink your coffee or brush your teeth.” —Bonnie Prudden

Exer-Sex drawingCONTRACT, RELAX, contract relax, contract, relax. Good lovemaking requires the control of the pelvic floor muscles as well as the low back, gluteals and abdominals. The more subtle the movement the more tantalizing.

Exer-Sex Quote Sidebar QuoteThe pelvis is the center of your body universe. The muscles from the upper body tie into the pelvis, as do the powerful leg muscles. All too often spasm in any of these muscles, due to accidents, sports, occupations, prevent full function —usually in the “letting go” or relaxing phase of the movement. Injured muscles develop trigger points, irritable spots in muscles causing the muscle to shorten, become painful, dysfunctional, and unable to relax.

Exer-Sex drawingKegel exercises, often the choice of a fix, require contraction of the muscles in the floor of the pelvis; however, if the muscles are in spasm, contraction is only going to do one thing, make them tighter. As with any other muscle in the body, when not in use muscles should be at full resting length, soft, and pliable.

Exer-Sex drawingThe muscles on the inside of your upper leg, the adductors, are tied directly to the pelvic floor. If in good order, there will be good love making. If in spasm, they are responsible — in part — for incontinence, pain, hemorrhoids, burning sensations, and poor performance.
